The Carriere Law Firm

Olivier Carriere is an attorney who focuses on estate planning in Louisiana. He will listen to your concerns, answer your questions, and provide solutions to meet your estate planning goals.

At the Carriere Law Firm, we help you to provide for your family by helping you create an estate plan. Avoid conflicts and protect your loved ones by establishing clear directives in the handling of your estate. We can make planning your estate easy by focusing on your concerns. Whether you need a trust-based plan to avoid probate or a will-based plan, give your family piece of mind with a plan!

One of the main components of a successful estate plan is the Last Will and Testament. Last Wills are tremendously important to ensure that your desires for the distribution of your hard-earned assets go where you want them to go. Without a properly drafted will, the State of Louisiana will determine how your assets are to be distributed, not you.

Besides Last Wills and Testaments, The Carriere Law Firm can help you and guide you in the following matters: (What We Do)

ESTATE PLANNING

When you need an estate planning lawyer, make sure you are choosing the best person for the job. At the Carriere Law Firm, we take the time to discuss what estate planning tools are available to meet the needs of our clients.

We know that a well-drafted estate plan is not a cookie-cutter plan. It must meet our clients’ goals and objectives to deliver a well-ordered estate to client’s loved ones Whether it is to avoid probate or to protect assets from creditors, We will meet with clients to determine a plan of action and collaborate closely with them to ensure the estate plan accomplishes its goals.

Do you have a last will and testament?

The Last Will ensures that your wishes for the distribution of your assets are followed and not the default rules as set Louisiana law. Also, by enacting a Last Will, you choose the executor of the estate, the person who at your request distributes your assets per your wishes.

What is power of attorney?

A Power of Attorney is a document that allows you to appoint a person to manage or help manage your financial affairs or healthcare affairs if you become unable to do so. A Financial Power of Attorney enables you to name a person to manage your finances, property, and investments during your incapacity.

Who will make medical decisions?

A Healthcare Power of Attorney enables you to name a person to control health care decisions for you when you are incapacitated or disabled and cannot make decisions for yourself A medical directive or living will is a document that states your health care wishes when you are incapacitated and allows you to advise your family and your doctors of those wishes.
